Towns & Leahy Mercantile and Deli Grand Social Event!
Three months and one day after we first opened our doors in the historic P.G Towns General Store building of downtown Douro, we’d like to celebrate all of the grand things that have happened thus far inside and out on the front porch of the Mercantile, by continuing with more of it! Come and join us. Socialize with some of the many Peterborough County producers that we are working with. Taste a few of the delicious ingredients we have to offer, including fresh cob on the corn from Dorisdale Farm in Keene. Enjoy music and watching the world go by from our front porch. Whether it be your first or fiftieth time in the door, all are welcome. See you here!

Breaking down borders between people begins at home and in our neighbourhoods. This workshop explores the ways in which eating together can erode structures that isolate us and enable us to collectively nourish our communities. Sharing food brings people together and can be a great way to cut the costs of living while eating healthier and reducing waste. This hands-on, interactive workshop will consider the ways in which our economic system has us eating alone while learning practical tips on sharing food with roommates, community members, classmates, or even your neighbour. Participants will take home sample meal plans and grocery lists for their household, recipes for killer potluck dishes, and resources on sharing food with the broader community.
